Authors Note: This piece is about how you can learn your lesson from anything like the boy in "Thank You Ma'am" by Langston Hughes.
Have you ever done anything that you regret, that you learned your lesson from? Almost everone has something they regret, including Roger from the story "Thank You Ma'am" by Langston Hughs.
From the eyes of Rogers I could defiantly tell he was frightened from the lady that was taking him. Who wouldn’t be? A lady you don’t even know is taking you to her house to wash up. But it was his fault, he tried to steel a pocketbook and thats what he gets. Like my dad says"What goes around, comes around Rodger definatly changed when he got to her house. We could tell that he was nervous and frightened and that he regretted doing what her did. When the door was wide open and no one was watching him he had a choice to make a run for it and stay and obey the woman. He stayed, that clearly shows that he isn't the bad boy anymore. But maybe everything did happen for a reason, that the woman somehow knew that she could change him.
